PROFESSIONAL VENUE

Hazlitt Youth Theatre Group Maidstone Kent

One of the elements that sets HYT aside from many other youth theatres is that it is based in the fantastic facility of The Hazlitt Arts Centre. This means that the wide and varied selection of productions it produces annually are performed in one of the three professional venues that the Arts Centre boasts.

HYT MEMBER - WORKSHOPS - PERFORMANCES

Hazlitt Youth Theatre Group Maidstone Kent

As a member you will receive at least one workshop per week, per term. Alongside this, all the age groups that HYT cater for are invited to involve themselves in the numerous productions it produces every year. All workshops and productions are led by professional actors and directors. Our productions range from new writing to comedy, radio plays to large scale musicals as well as performances designed for an international audience.

PRODUCTIONS - FESTIVALS - THEATRE TRIPS - TUITION

Other opportunities that are exclusive to members include attending local, national and international festivals. You will be able to watch some of the professional productions at the Hazlitt Arts Centre free of charge and we organise theatre trips to other venues which can include backstage tours and workshops. As if all of that is not enough we also provide the opportunity for private dance and singing tuition.

THEATRICAL OPPORTUNITIES

Hazlitt Youth Theatre Group Maidstone Kent

The Hazlitt Youth Theatre prides its self in providing its members the best possible theatrical opportunities. For that reason it has in the past worked with professionals who currently work with the BBC, The National Theatre, The West End, Perfect Pitch and acclaimed international practitioners.

TRUST - CONFIDENCE - FRIENDS

The Hazlitt Educational Department has a team of professional and experienced staff that boast a wealth of skills and expertise that can facilitate and compliment all educational establishments. We have worked with hundreds of schools both in the primary and the secondary sector all over Kent delivering educational workshops, theatre in education performances, production work and inset training amongst other things.

The department has produced work for Kent County Council, Maidstone Art Gallery and Museum, Kent Fire and Rescue, The Prince’s Foundation, Future Creative and The NHS. The collaborative projects involved the HAC Education Department designing bespoke productions and workshops which were seen by thousands of children and young people right across the region.

Due to the facilities that the Hazlitt Arts Centre has at its disposal, we can provide a great learning space for schools, colleges, teachers and students to help develop their learning. Such subjects as Drama, Performing Arts, Theatre Studies, English, Science and History can all be enhanced in this environment as it allows school curriculum work to be explored in a very different way.
